I am Camden Cook, an online and in-person tutor.

I help students build their skills in reading, grammar, reading comprehension, and other classroom skills. I foster an environment where students are not afraid to make mistakes, ensuring a positive experience and growth mindset.

I started my teaching career as an ESL tutor in Japan where I taught students ranging in age from 9 months to 70 years old. After receiving a Master’s Degree in teaching English from UNC-CH, I worked in North Carolina public schools for over 24 years. I taught all ages from 6th-12th grade but spent most of my career in middle schools. I retired from classroom teaching several years ago and realized that I missed working with students so decided to try teaching in a different format. I am now working as a tutor to help students improve their reading, reading comprehension, writing, grammar, or understanding of history. I also have experience with teaching ESL and the Wilson reading method.

Update as of April 2022 - I am now working with students in person on my front porch!
